Now in its 18th season — a record for American live-action sitcoms — It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia pulls in a relatively modest yet loyal audience. As the gang airs its latest antics, a wide range of brands is connecting with the show’s engaged viewership.
During the two-episode season premiere in August, the average ad airing on FX or FXX was 45% more effective than the average primetime and cable TV ad over the preceding year.
Here's a look at some of the standouts:
Litter-Robot's Litter-Robot Pro 5: 30 took the top spot among the most effective advertisers during the Season premiere, delivering a whopping 2,491% more engagement than the average premiere night ad. Maybe viewers already had a feline soft spot based on Charlie's Kitten Mittens idea, or maybe the creative's contrast of picking up dog waste vs. the futuristic elegance of the Litter-Robot Pro 5 made a big impact on viewers.
Wendy's Fan-Favorite Pub is Back :15 highlighted the return of the chain's Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger, using a tongue-in-cheek depiction of an old-timey tavern across the Atlantic. While airing near the start of the second episode — a slot that might be used by some viewers to step away from the screen — the ad delivered 640% more engagement than the night's benchmark.
Rocket Money's Tutorial :15 contrasted its automated personal finance app with those that have steep learning curves. Shot like a TikTok reel, the creative drove 367% more engagement than the average premiere night ad.
Starlink's Absolutely Fantastic :15 rounded out the Top 10 most impactful ads of the night, driving 253% more engagement than the benchmark. The spot, highlighting the vastness of Starlink's connectivity capabilities, was one of the last ads of the two-episode premiere, proving that late-night viewers remained highly responsive to strong creatives.
